Nagasaki Mican also called Japanese mandarin, these are a popular seedless citrus fruit that you can find in Japan. They are fairly round in shape and grow between 6 to 8 centimetres in diameter. The skin is orangey-red, smooth and gravely in texture. Straightforward to eat as it is easy to peel, this is one of the reasons why the fruit is so widely enjoyed.
After uncovering the flesh and biting into it, you will find that it is firm and tender followed by a watery burst of juice that is sweet and tangy. It is quite aromatic and can be smelt before getting too close. Despite its smaller size compared to Western variants, the balance of sweet and sour along with a flavour that is more intense makes it quite different.
